In early 2025, Professor Pierre van Mechelen was appointed Belgian delegate to the CERN Council, together with Dr. Véronique Halloin, replacing Professor Dirk Ryckbosch, who has entered a well-deserved retirement. Professor van Mechelen is a professor of physics at the University of Antwerp, where he leads research in experimental particle physics within CERN’s CMS collaboration. See more information. |

In April 2025, Steve Mattens was appointed Belgian Industrial Liaison Officer (ILO) for Flemish companies. A member of Flanders Investment & Trade, Steve is based in Brussels and regularly travels to Switzerland and Geneva. See more information. |
